Energy, a capacity of a physical system to do work, plays very significant role in our day to day activities. It has become an indispensable tool for development and growth of a country. Energy is consumed in the form of electricity for lighting, cooling, heating, transportation etc. Our activities depends so much on energy availability that it has now become lifeblood of economic activities.
It is clear and well observed fact that the development of a given region or country directly depend on the amount of energy consumption. Countries, where per capita energy consumption is higher, are at the higher stage of social and economical development. Higher energy consumption not only improves the living standard and comfort level of individual but also results in higher literacy rates and better health.
New-Energy Foundation (NEF) intends to do exactly the same. The NEF is a non-profit and non-government organization. The objective of the NEF is to promote the clean energy usage and conservation of conventional energy in rural areas with an objective of all-round development of societies in developing countries.
NEF believes that the said objectives can be achieved through public awareness, training and demonstration project of the renewable energy technologies such as wind, biomass, small hydro and solar photovoltaic. An awareness program would disseminate the information about a potential of renewable energy technology. A training program would enable an interested individuals to learn more and participate intensely in the renewable energy field, which could probably become a source of earning for them. While a demonstration program (models) would provide opportunities to get closer to a RE technology.
Apart from organizing awareness camps and conducting training programs, the NEF plans to work with individuals to help them technically and partially financially in setting up renewable energy systems for fulfilling their energy requirement.
